Itinerary

Day 1: Dar es salaam to Mikumi

Morning pickup from the hotel/airport in Dar es salaam drive to Mikumi national park 6 hours drive with stop in Morogoro for hot lunch, take a short break before drive and arrive for the evening Masai Boma Tour. Enjoy Masai culture dancing, songs and clothing while dinner and overnight atĀ Bastian Mikumi camp

Day 2: Mikumi game drive

After breakfast from the camp with packed lunches enjoy full day game drive inside the park, animals commonly found here include lion, eland, hartebeest, buffalo, wildebeest, giraffe, zebra and elephant, you will stop for lunches before proceed with game drive to hippos and crocodiles pool and during evening you will return to the camp for dinner and overnight atĀ Mikumi Bastian camp

Day 3: Mikumi to Dar es Salaam

After breakfast with picnic lunch drive to Dar es salaam for the drop off at the hotel/airport

The dry season of July through October is the best time of year for the greatest overall concentrations of game in this park when wildlife congregates around the lakes. However, do not underestimate this park at any other time outside the rainy season of April & May as game viewing is very good in various areas throughout the year. Nyerere is quite safe to visit. Crime against visitors is rare in Tanzania and the little crime that does occur mostly happens in major urban centers, similar to the rest of the world.
